Black Sears Estate is a small, artisan winery located on the slopes of Howell Mountain in Napa Valley, California. Founded by Joyce Black Sears, the estate has built a reputation for powerful yet refined mountain-grown wines.
The vineyards sit at high elevation on volcanic soils typical of Howell Mountain, conditions that are particularly well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. Smaller amounts of Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties are also cultivated.
Black Sears wines often display rich aromas of blackberry, cassis and ripe plum, supported by notes of cedar, graphite and spice. The mountain terroir provides structure and depth, allowing the wines to age gracefully.
Through careful vineyard management and traditional winemaking practices, Black Sears Estate produces expressive Napa Valley wines that highlight the distinctive character of Howell Mountain.
