Château Clinet is one of Pomerol’s best-known names, producing Merlot-dominant wines that combine plush texture with impressive definition. The estate’s gravel and clay soils help shape wines of black plum, cherry liqueur, cocoa, truffle and spice, often with more density than many neighbouring properties. Modern Clinet can be generous and seductive, but the better vintages have enough freshness and tannic backbone to keep the richness under control and develop well in bottle.
