Château Coutet is a First Growth Barsac estate producing sweet Bordeaux with considerable precision and lift. Sémillon usually forms the foundation, joined by Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, and the botrytised fruit delivers flavours of apricot, honey, citrus peel and spice. What distinguishes Coutet from heavier sweet wines is its acidity. The Barsac terroir gives the wine brightness and cut, making it both seductive in youth and capable of long ageing.
