Aleanna is the Mendoza project behind El Enemigo and Gran Enemigo, led by Alejandro Vigil with Adrianna Catena. The estate works across Mendoza, including the Uco Valley and the historic eastern zone, and has earned a loyal following by making wines that combine Argentine ripeness with much more nerve and detail than the stereotype suggests.
Cabernet Franc is one of the signatures here, and it is easy to see why: the best wines show dark fruit, herbs, floral lift and chalky structure rather than simple sweetness. The whites matter as well. Chardonnay and Semillón can be surprisingly serious, with texture and mineral cut instead of anonymous fruit.
Aleanna’s style is ambitious but not inflated. The wines often carry concentration, yet they remain alive on the palate, and that energy is what separates them from more obvious Mendoza bottlings. For drinkers who want Argentina with complexity, not just power, Aleanna is one of the smartest names to follow.
