Cantina Terlano is a prestigious wine cooperative located in Terlan (Terlano) in the Alto Adige region of northern Italy. Founded in 1893, the cooperative has become one of Italy’s most respected producers of high-quality white wines. The unique combination of alpine climate and mineral-rich volcanic soils gives Terlano wines their distinctive elegance, freshness and remarkable ageing potential.
The vineyards are situated on steep slopes surrounding the village of Terlan, where grape varieties such as Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer thrive. The porphyry-rich soils contribute to the wines’ characteristic structure and pronounced minerality. Cantina Terlano is particularly known for its complex and expressive white wines.
A defining feature of Cantina Terlano is the extended cellar ageing of many of its wines before release. This practice enhances complexity and refinement. The wines typically display aromas of citrus, apple, peach and white flowers, often accompanied by subtle mineral and almond-like notes.
