Château Monbousquet is a distinguished estate in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, known for its rich and expressive wines. Acquired and revitalised by Gérard Perse in the 1990s, the château quickly gained recognition for its modern approach and consistently high-quality production.
The vineyards are planted predominantly with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon. Located on a mix of gravel, clay and sandy soils, the terroir contributes to wines with depth, ripe fruit character and a refined structure.
The wines of Château Monbousquet are opulent and generous, offering aromas of black cherry, plum and blackberry, layered with notes of spice, chocolate and subtle oak. Despite their richness, the wines maintain balance and freshness, with a smooth texture and long finish. A modern, approachable style of Saint-Émilion with excellent ageing potential.
