Run by the Avril family for generations, the domaine farms vineyards across the appellation’s varied soils of galets roulés, sand and limestone. Grenache forms the backbone of the wines, supported by Mourvèdre and Syrah. The style combines southern Rhône richness with remarkable finesse, offering aromas of ripe red fruit, dried herbs, spice and warm stone. Clos des Papes has long been considered one of the benchmark producers of the appellation.
