Domaine de Saint-Préfert is a respected estate located in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in the southern Rhône Valley. While the property has a long history, it gained international recognition under the guidance of acclaimed winemaker Isabel Ferrando, who revitalized the domaine and elevated its wines to a remarkable level of quality.
The vineyards are spread across several notable terroirs within the appellation, including soils composed of galets roulés, limestone and sandy terraces. This diversity of soils allows the estate to craft wines that combine power with finesse. Grenache forms the backbone of the red wines, supported by varieties such as Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Syrah.
Saint-Préfert wines are known for their elegance and aromatic precision. They often reveal aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry and plum, layered with notes of Mediterranean herbs, pepper and subtle earthy nuances. On the palate the wines show refined structure with silky tannins and a long, harmonious finish.
Domaine de Saint-Préfert is now considered one of the most respected producers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its wines combine depth with balance and offer excellent ageing potential.
