Domaine Pierre Usseglio is a renowned family estate located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the southern Rhône Valley. The domaine was founded in 1948 when Francis Usseglio, originally from Italy, settled in the region and began cultivating vineyards. Today the estate is managed by his sons Jean-Pierre and Thierry Usseglio, who have strengthened its reputation among the leading producers of the appellation.
The vineyards are spread across several terroirs within Châteauneuf-du-Pape, including parcels covered with the famous galets roulés, the large round stones that store heat and help the grapes ripen fully. The red wines are dominated by Grenache, often supported by Syrah, Mourvèdre and other traditional Rhône varieties.
The wines of Domaine Pierre Usseglio are known for their rich fruit expression and powerful structure, offering aromas of ripe cherry, blackberry and plum along with notes of herbs, garrigue and subtle spice. Traditional vinification and ageing in large oak foudres preserve balance and complexity, producing classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines with excellent ageing potential.
