Weingut Emrich-Schönleber is one of the most respected estates in Germany’s Nahe wine region. The family-run winery is located in the village of Monzingen and is managed by Werner Schönleber together with his son Frank. Over decades of meticulous vineyard work, the estate has established itself as a benchmark producer of terroir-driven Riesling.
The vineyards are situated on some of the finest slopes around Monzingen, including renowned sites such as Halenberg and Frühlingsplätzchen. The soils are composed largely of weathered slate and volcanic rock, which give the wines their distinctive mineral character. Riesling dominates the portfolio, producing wines that show aromas of citrus, white peach and apple along with subtle spice and vibrant acidity.
In the cellar, Emrich-Schönleber follows a precise and restrained winemaking style aimed at preserving purity and elegance. Fermentations proceed slowly and carefully to allow the character of the vineyards to shine through. The resulting wines are known for their finesse, clarity and outstanding ageing potential.
