F.X. Pichler is one of the most prestigious wineries in the Wachau region of Austria, an area internationally celebrated for its refined white wines. The family estate is located in Oberloiben along the Danube and is currently led by Lucas Pichler, continuing the legacy of his father Franz Xaver Pichler.
The estate’s vineyards include some of Wachau’s most celebrated sites, such as Kellerberg, Loibenberg and Steinertal. These steep terraced vineyards with rocky soils produce grapes of exceptional concentration and minerality.
F.X. Pichler is particularly known for its outstanding wines made from Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. These wines combine power and elegance, typically showing aromas of citrus, peach, green apple and white pepper supported by vibrant acidity and mineral structure.
The estate’s finest wines are often classified as Smaragd, the highest quality category in Wachau. With remarkable concentration and balance, F.X. Pichler wines are among Austria’s most sought-after and possess excellent ageing potential.
