Hourglass Estate is a boutique winery in Napa Valley known for producing highly concentrated, small-production wines that reflect both precision and power. Located in the narrowest part of the valley, near St. Helena, the estate benefits from a unique microclimate and exceptional vineyard conditions.
The estate vineyards are planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside smaller amounts of Merlot and other Bordeaux varieties. The distinctive terroir—marked by gravelly soils and excellent drainage—allows for low yields and intense fruit expression, resulting in wines of great depth and structure.
Hourglass wines are recognized for their richness and complexity. Aromas typically include blackcurrant, blackberry and dark plum, layered with notes of cocoa, spice and subtle oak. Despite their power, the wines maintain balance and refinement, with polished tannins and a long, persistent finish.
