Kilikanoon is a respected winery based in the Clare Valley of South Australia, a region internationally renowned for its vibrant Riesling and powerful Shiraz wines. The estate was founded in 1997 by winemaker Kevin Mitchell, whose family has deep roots in the viticultural history of Clare Valley.
The vineyards are spread across several distinctive sites within Clare Valley, including areas with limestone and slate-rich soils that are particularly well suited for Riesling. These wines are celebrated for their bright acidity and aromas of lime, green apple and citrus blossom, often supported by a pronounced mineral backbone and excellent ageing potential.
In addition to Riesling, Kilikanoon produces notable red wines, particularly from Shiraz. These wines typically display concentrated flavours of blackberry, plum and cracked pepper, layered with notes of dark chocolate, spice and subtle oak influence.
Through meticulous vineyard management and a strong focus on site expression, Kilikanoon has earned international acclaim and numerous awards, establishing itself as one of the leading producers of Clare Valley wines.
