Weingut Philipp Kuhn is a leading family estate located in Laumersheim in Germany’s renowned Pfalz wine region. The Kuhn family has cultivated vineyards here for generations, but the winery gained international recognition under Philipp Kuhn, who modernized the estate in the 1990s and introduced a strong focus on quality and terroir expression.
The estate’s vineyards are planted on some of the finest limestone-based terroirs around Laumersheim, including parcels within highly regarded Erste Lage and Grosses Gewächs sites such as Kirschgarten, Steinbuckel and Saumagen. These limestone, marl and loess soils provide the wines with structure, minerality and depth.
Weingut Philipp Kuhn is particularly known for its elegant and terroir-driven wines. Riesling plays a central role in the portfolio, producing wines with vibrant acidity, citrus and white peach aromas, and pronounced mineral character. The estate also crafts outstanding Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), along with Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder and Chardonnay. The red wines combine ripe fruit with subtle spice and a refined, Burgundian style.
Through low yields, meticulous vineyard work and precise winemaking, Philipp Kuhn has become one of the most respected producers in the Pfalz. His wines display purity, balance and excellent ageing potential.
