Staglin Family Vineyard is a prestigious winery located in the heart of the Rutherford AVA in Napa Valley, California. The estate was acquired by the Staglin family in 1985 with the vision of producing wines that combine power, precision and elegance. The winery is also widely known for its philanthropic initiatives, particularly the annual Music Festival for Mental Health, which supports global research in mental health.
The vineyard covers roughly 60 acres and lies on the renowned Rutherford Bench, one of the most prized terroirs in Napa Valley. Gravelly alluvial soils and a warm climate create ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, the flagship grape of the estate. Smaller plantings of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Chardonnay complement the portfolio.
Staglin wines are recognized for their precision and balance. The Cabernet Sauvignon typically reveals aromas of cassis, black cherry and blackberry, layered with notes of graphite, cedar, violet and subtle spice from ageing in French oak barrels. On the palate the wines combine depth with remarkable finesse and polished tannins.
Through meticulous vineyard management, low yields and sustainable farming, Staglin Family Vineyard produces wines that capture the richness of Rutherford while maintaining the elegance associated with the finest Napa Valley Cabernets. Many vintages develop beautifully with extended bottle ageing.
