Olabisi Vineyards is a small but highly respected winery based in Napa Valley, California, founded by winemaker James (Jim) O’Connell. The estate is known for its extremely limited production and its focus on carefully selected vineyard sites from some of Napa’s most prestigious regions, including Howell Mountain, Oakville and Calistoga. This selective approach has earned Olabisi a reputation for wines of remarkable concentration and precision.
Cabernet Sauvignon forms the backbone of the portfolio. The grapes are sourced from mature vineyards with naturally low yields, resulting in wines of impressive depth and structure. Aromatically, the wines often reveal cassis, black cherry and ripe plum layered with graphite, cedar, cocoa and subtle spice. The tannins are powerful yet refined, providing both structure and longevity.
Olabisi emphasizes meticulous attention to detail both in the vineyard and the cellar. Grapes are hand harvested, carefully sorted and aged in high-quality French oak barrels. Due to the small production and high quality, Olabisi wines are often regarded as cult Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, highly sought after by collectors and fine wine enthusiasts.
