Château Climens is one of Barsac’s benchmark sweet wine estates and was ranked a First Growth in the 1855 classification of Sauternes and Barsac. The vineyard is planted entirely to Sémillon, a choice that gives the wine both richness and a striking sense of line. Noble rot brings honey, apricot, quince and saffron notes, but Climens is never simply luscious. Its hallmark is purity and tension, a style reinforced in recent years by biodynamic farming, making it one of the most precise and age-worthy sweet wines in Bordeaux.
