Scions of Sinai is a modern terroir-focused wine producer from Stellenbosch in South Africa. The project was founded by winemaker Bernhard Bredell, whose family has been involved in winemaking in the region for several generations. The name refers to the historic Sinai Hill area in Stellenbosch, where the family has deep roots in viticulture.
The vineyards are planted on ancient granite and sandy soils typical of the Helderberg area. Varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Cinsault and Pinotage are cultivated with a strong focus on vineyard expression and natural balance. The wines are known for their freshness, mineral structure and purity of fruit, showing aromas of citrus, peach and apple in the whites and red berries, cherry and subtle spice in the reds.
Scions of Sinai follows a minimalist philosophy both in the vineyard and the cellar. Many grapes come from old vines and are vinified with minimal intervention to preserve the authentic expression of grape and terroir. The resulting wines are elegant, vibrant and reflective of the unique character of Stellenbosch.
